"Yes, they sent me to this old house to live...can you believe it?"
They said that
"This Picture" just could never be Us,
They brainwashed our minds and stole our young trust,
In Exile they gave Us chores and busy things to do,
I guess that was just their way to see We got through,
Until Our Babies could emerge and "come out" to play,
Knowing all along that they would just take them away.
And yes it did happen, there came that one fateful day,
But We didn't want to believe it in our own naive way,
They said not to look, it would be easier for Us to take,
But some of Us held "Our Sweet Babes" anyway just for
our own sake,
We clung on with Maternal Love amongst all the fear,
Then WHAM the Nurse came in and said, "I'll take that Baby
dear!"
For years We hid amongst the torment of the guilt and the shame,
Of not even knowing Our Own Baby's first name,
They said that "We" of all people didn't have a "Right"
to know,
And We all felt like saying, "Who are 'They' to tell Us so."
They said it was because "We" chose to give Our Babies
away,
But if We had had a "real" choice, "with Us"
Our Babes would have stayed.
Now many years have passed since that sad fateful day,
And it didn't get easier, no matter what "They" did
say,
The days they get shorter and the nights are full of dreams,
Of holding Our Babies which some of Us have never even seen.
Me, I am fortunate, I held My Son and kissed his cherished face,
But many Birthmoms live daily seeing a void in the Human Race.
For Millennia
Women have bore children no matter what the girl's age,
And they've loved and nurtured their children through good and
bad days,
They have raised them with helpful families, sometimes they
raised them alone,
But through the Love of a Mother and Child a Family was grown.
Perhaps Society will again one day relinquish its arrogant
foolish Pride,
And realize the Glory of Creating a Family through Birth is
nothing to Hide.

I have been a little under the weather this past year--or I should say "under the water." My house was wiped out during Hurricane Katrina in Mississippi, USA, and I was trapped upstairs when the 20-foot water surge hit. We had 7 feet of water in the house and my computer & everything was destroyed. I have still been living in my house, but there is so much to fix that I haven't had much time for my website or fixing the Guestbooks, as it is Hurricane Season once again. Thanks for your patience as I know every posting on a Registry is important to those in the Adoption world, as it may be the posting that brings you back to your "Lost Loved One."
NOTE: If your previous post is missing, please repost. The last guestbook did not function correctly. I am trying to recover old entries to include, but it is slow-going. Sorry for the inconvenice.
